    The Applied Electronics Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) in Cypress, CA is seeking a full-time Information System Security Officer (ISSO). This person will join our growing office with lots of opportunities for growth. A successful candidate will be familiar with the 32 CFR Part 117, DAAPM, NIST RMF, DoDM 5205.07, and/or JSIG IS requirements. They will have strong written and oral communication skills to maintain a relationship with our ISSP and other mission partners. ARA is searching for a candidate who takes the initiative and creates decisive paths to complete tasks. This person will need to work well in a team environment with a commitment to ensure security awareness and techniques are communicated effectively across the infrastructure.

    Salary Range : $78,000 - $125,000, ($97,676.80 mid-range) dependent upon experience and education.

    What you'll do as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO):

    • Support the establishment, monitoring, and maintenance of classified information systems' security compliance posture under the Risk Management Framework from conception through decommission.

    • Assist the ISSM in meeting the organizations responsibilities related to classified information systems.

    • Ensure approved procedures are in place and executed for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying various types of hardware and media.

    • Support the development of policies and procedures regarding data handling, computers, and networks.

    • Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or system configurations with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Authorization Official.

    • Investigate security incidents to include data spills, data integrity incidents and malicious code incidents.

    • Perform transfers of data for users between systems of like and differing classification levels.

    • Conduct continuous monitoring of classified information system.

    • Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented.

    • Operate in Windows and Linux/Unix based systems.

    • Administrate Windows and Linux/Unix based servers.

    Requirements for the Information System Security Officer (ISSO):

    • MUST be U.S. Citizen (no Green card) due to contract requirements.

    • SECRET Security Clearance.

    • COMPTIA Security + Certification within 6 months.

    • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or related field) with two years Cyber Security experience OR 4 years Cyber Security experience). Four to six years of related experience can equal degree.

    • CISSP certified. If not, must be willing to become CISSP certified.

    Preferences for the Information System Security Officer (ISSO):

    • TOP SECRET Security Clearance

    • DoD Directive 8570.1 IAM Level II or higher certification.
