Job Summary and Qualifications

• You will be responsible to the Director of the department for facilitating, coordinating and delegating the delivery of patient care to a defined group of patients during their entire hospitalization period

• You will be responsible 24 hours a day for the staffing and management of patient care in each of your units, for promoting the practice of professional nursing in a specified patient care area, and for the acquisition, development, and utilization of resources (human and material) needed to fulfill those responsibilities

• You will work cooperatively with administrators, physicians, staff, other managers and all customers of the department to provide services, which consistently meet and exceed the expectations of their customers

• You will mentor employees in quality and patient satisfaction goals for the clinical area(s) of responsibility and serve as a positive role model for staff management, problem solving and professional standards of nursing

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; BSN required

• Masters Degree in Nursing or related health field preferred (or actively in progress)

• Current Nevada license to practice nursing

• Certification in nursing specialty: CEN, CPN, CCRN, etc., or Nursing Administration (CNA) preferred

• Specialty Certification for clinical areas preferred - BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS required

• Recent, current acute clinical knowledge (greater than 3 years) and demonstrated competency and knowledgeable in the principles of personnel management required. Minimum of 1 year management or leadership experience required
