  • GENERAL PURPOSE

    Helps establish program goals and develops strategies to maximize organ recovery efforts within our Donation Service Area (DSA), working directly with Clinical Leadership to achieve the goals of FLDRN. Works collaboratively with all departments within FLDRN, transplant centers, the tissue banks, transplant centers, and community partners to help further advance the objectives of the program. Provides the necessary mentorship and direct supervision of assigned staff to help maximize the surgical recovery and preservation of local and imported organs.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Assists the Director of Clinical Services to implement strategies to maximize the number of organs recovered and transplanted using the latest approved preservation techniques. Assists with the monitoring of the Balanced Score Card as it relates to Clinical Services.

    2. Oversees the updating and implementation of policy and procedures to standardize processes, maximize donation, and are compliant with CMS and OPTN standards.

    3. Participates in clinical call rotation at a minimum of 33% (approx. 10 days, including one Friday, Saturday, Sunday on call weekend per month). Participates in at a minimum of 33% of UR designated holidays.

    4. Supervises and meets directly with staff on a regular basis to assist them in setting and managing departmental and organization goals.

    5. Oversees the call schedule and training for assigned staff. Contributes to Clinical meetings, staff meetings and others as needed. Acts as a leader for FLDRN and works in a proactive fashion with all departments.

    6. Participates in FLDRN events that support donor families in the community.

    7. Participates in clinical and management team meetings. Participates in related professional agencies and work groups.

    Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred.

    • 3 years of experience as Organ Procurement Coordinator; Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator or Certified Transplant Preservationist required.

    • Prior supervisory experience and experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: healthcare (direct or indirect patient care) organ, eye or tissue donation; transplantation; healthcare-related non-profit or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required

    • Ability to problem-solve required

    • Ability to create and give presentations required

    • Able to multi-task and prioritize work required

    • Strategic planning skills required

    • CPTC - Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator - CTP - Certified Transplant Preservationist required within 180 days

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $76,898 - $107,702 Annually

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
