    Job Description

    Primary Purpose of Role

    Reporting to the Plant Director, you will lead and develop team of professionals to deliver world class products developed from world class processes. You will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. You will consistently recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.     Key Responsibilities

    • Lead a team of 4+ Quality and Manufacturing Engineers.

    • Train, develop, and manage performance of direct reports within department.

    • Champion the use of continuous improvement tools to reduce downtime, improve quality, reduce scrap, and achieve labor efficiency targets.

    • Implements key performance indicators to track progress against plant targets. Create action plans to address top issues and prevent reoccurrence.

    • Interface with internal and external personnel, customers, and suppliers helping lead external containment and customer responses. Lead plant 8D corrective actions by assigning and helping guide structured problem solving

    • Manage the continuous improvement efforts, Quality System and process execution, manufacturing engineering key day to day functions.

    • Develop and manage departmental operating budgets including monthly and yearly operating budgets as well as Capex budget creation and execution.

    • Regularly presents to Senior Leadership over plant quality performance.

    • Uphold and support Allison, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 Quality Systems.

    • Support and guide development of new part/product designs and manufacturing processes, as they relate to central manufacturing engineering.

    • Improve plant Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by optimizing quality and availability %'s.

    • Implement Operational Excellence (OE) principles being led by pillar teams.

    • Comfortable providing feedback to direct reports and peers.

    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to peers and leadership

    • Comfortable with addressing and resolving conflict to find solutions as a team

    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    • Quality systems and engineered quality processes

    Qualifications

    Required :

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field

    Preferred

    • Masters degree in Engineering or related field

    • Six Sigma and/or ASQ certification

    Experience

    Required :

    • 5+ years' experience in leadership role

    • 10+ years' experience in Quality Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer role, ideally in manufacturing environment

    • Participation/lead in IATF audits

    Preferred

    • 10+ years' in manufacturing environment.
