    Description:

    Position title: Manager, Radiation Oncology

    Position summary:

    Manages the Radiation oncology department to ensure quality patient care in accordance with the hospital's mission and values. Manages daily operations, oversight of technical and clinical processes of radiation therapy, interface workflows, future planning, financial accountability, quality assessment and improvement, regulatory compliance, and productivity management. Partners with clinical, technical, administrative and medical staff to guide continual process improvement initiatives in the adoption of evidence-based practice.

    What the Manager, Radiation Oncology will need:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field.

    • ARRT Certification

    • Five years of clinical experience in a radiation oncology setting with progressively responsible leadership/ supervisory experience.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide effective leadership to staff with a diverse set of educational and clinical backgrounds, and to develop and maintain productive working relationships with other departments, clinical service groups, medical staff and external organizations/agencies.

    What the Manager, Radiation Oncology will do:

    • Manages, develops, implements, and maintains the annual operating budget for the Radiation Oncology Department ensuring that operations are managed within established guidelines. This includes departmental overall budget, wage, supplies and business growth. Completes variance reports in a timely manner. Analyzes variances and develops corrective action plans.

    • Understands and is a confident user of the complex interfaces necessary to support the radiation oncology information system and the connection to the organization's main electronic medical record system.

    • Responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation, ongoing development, evaluation and retention of departmental colleagues, providing performance feedback, mentoring and coaching, conducting performance evaluations and disciplinary action. Builds teams with complementary strengths and champions their ideas. Ensures that appropriate staff and resources are allocated to priorities.

    • Demonstrates positive patient outcomes. Develops appropriate core processes to ensure that systems function to support an exceptional patient experience.

    • Functions as a change agent by appropriately challenging current processes, policies and procedures. Seeks to incorporate new technologies and methods to improve overall effectiveness. Exemplifies a strong, positive attitude during times of crisis or uncertainty
