    Akamai's Global Payroll teams are responsible for paying all Company employees accurately and timely. The Company currently has employees in 35 countries in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia. The Payroll Manager North America will be responsible for paying employees in the United States and in Canada. The position reports to the Director of Global Payroll. Within Akamai, the payroll function reports through the finance organization.Â

    This position is responsible for leading the US and Canada team. You will ensure the successful completion of all scheduled and non-scheduled payroll cycles, including US and Canada bi-weekly payrolls. The senior manager will also be expected to provide timely and excellent customer service to the company's US and Canada employees and is expected to provide expertise for statutory compliance and for time and attendance.Â

    As a Manager Senior Global Payroll, you will be responsible for:

    • Managing day-to-day payroll operations for the United States and Canada payrolls accurately and with urgency

    • Leading assigned team members in the accomplishment of duties and goals

    • Promoting and ensuring staff development, and providing meaningful and timely performance feedback.

    • Monitoring and understanding constantly changing statutory technical payroll requirements for the US and Canada.

    • Developing strategic process improvements to maintain the quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of the payroll function

    • Maintaining a strong control environment and ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as it relates to assigned region.

    • Managing integration efforts for the new system rollouts and existingsystem enhancements, and for mergers and acquisitions as needed.Â

    To be successful in this role you will

    • Have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 6 years experience in a global payroll environment.

    • Have 3 years of direct people management experience

    • Have thorough knowledge of ADP GlobalView platform and ADP process procedures

    • Have strong experience with time and attendance systems preferably Kronos

    • Have demonstrated ability to build, manage and motivate teams to enhance professional relationships, and to to build solid partnerships.Â

    • Have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) suited for a global environment

    Compensation

    Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $113,430 - $170,043/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
