  • This position is responsible for managing various aspects of US income tax accounting and federal tax return compliance. The position will provide tax guidance and leadership on a wide range of tax issues as well as provide support in the US federal tax audit process.

    The candidate should have recent corporate income tax experience, strong communication skills and be a champion of process and technology improvements.

    US Tax Operations

    • Responsible for various aspects of US income tax accounting of certain entities with complex transactions, including current/deferred tax provisions, rate reconciliations and tax roll forwards

    • Knowledge of US GAAP, including extensive knowledge of ASC 740

    • Proficient in applying knowledge of domestic tax laws - responsible for proper presentation of domestic tax law implications, where applicable, in the financial statements

    • Support team lead in the preparation of quarterly reconciliation files

    • Lead Return to Provision (RTP) process and ensure RTP is appropriately reflected in quarterly US tax provision reconciliation file

    • Ability to identify and implement process improvements

    • Keep abreast of both internal and external events that will impact Global Tax and/or the company

    • Manage department special projects and prepare slides for management, as necessary

    • Responsible for various aspects of federal tax compliance

    • Support transaction costs analysis, including managing third party vendor and liaising with Pfizer teams, including Legal and Business Development

    • Support Pfizer's Research & Development calculation, including managing third party vendor

    • Proficient in applying knowledge of domestic tax laws for proper presentation in US consolidated tax return

    • Ensure federal income tax return files are audit ready

    • Ensure agreed upon IRS audit adjustments are carried forward into current returns

    • Strong research skills including the ability to interpret statues, regulations and case law and apply them to company facts

    • Excellent written and verbal communications regarding both tax and non-tax issues

    Required Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax or related discipline

    • Recent experience in Big 4 or large corporation tax department

    • 8+ years income tax provision experience in large corporation or Big 4 accounting firm

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Graduate degree in Accounting, Tax or related discipline

    • CPA

    • Longview experience

    • OneSource experience

    The annual base salary for this position ranges from $93,500.00 to $155,900.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.     • The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $84,200.00 to $140,400.00.

    Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
