    The role of Operational Risk Manager is an independent risk oversight role in the Operational Risk Management business unit in the Corporate Risk Management business segment.

    This role has responsibility for programs / processes within the Operational Risk Management Shared Services team. Key activities include, but are not limited to risk assessments, central management of third-party risk activities for the Corporate Risk Management business segment, quality assurance and independent testing and reporting. Required to produce presentations, reports, and meeting material for executive and senior management audiences.

    The foundation of these responsibilities is to drive a strong risk culture through collaboration across business segments and lines of defense and contribute to the successful achievement of operational risk strategies.

    Summary:

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Execute assigned responsibilities defined within the Huntington Bancshares Incorporated (HBI) Operational Risk Management Oversight Framework and HBI Risk Governance Framework.

    • Manage and monitor operational risk trends applicable to programs / processes assigned, escalation to management and provide recommendations for prevention or remediation of impacts for negative trends identified.

    • BSRM (Business Segment Relationship Manager) Coordinator for the Corporate Risk Management business segment. Responsible for performing quality assurance (QA) reviews of onboarding, ongoing monitoring activities and termination of third-party relationships; BSRM performance reporting for management; identify and recommend training, where applicable.

    • Provides forward-looking reports of third-party internal and external assessments/questionnaires coming due so BSRMs can proactively plan for accurate and timely completion of this work.

    • Contribute to completion of the Operational Risk Pillar Risk Assessment (PRA).

    • Identifying current and emerging risk trends and escalate, as appropriate.

    • Participation and/or leading working groups/committees to address and resolve issues.

    • Data completeness and quality for records owned in Archer - Enterprise Risk Management System (ERMS).

    • Assisting with the implementation of operational risk strategies/initiatives.

    • Monitor change in the regulatory landscape related to operational risk.

    • Drive strong risk culture behavior across business segments and lines of defense.

    • Identify operational risk-related training needs and assist in development as appropriate.

    • Develop and maintain operational risk policies, where assigned.

    • Document and maintain procedures for owned processes.

    • Participate in projects and other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or an additional 3 years of experience as described in next bullet (total of 8+ years of experience)

    • 5+ years of experience in a risk management, audit, or compliance role that required analysis, assessment and resolution of issues

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree preference - business related field

    • Risk, audit, or compliance experience in financial services

    • Excellent analytical skills

    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve issues and meet deadlines

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Strong written/verbal communication skills

    • PC & Internet proficient

    • Data analytics and presentation of data in the form of dashboards/PowerPoint decks
