    Responsibilities

    • The Palliative Care Coordinator is responsible for planning developing implementing coordinating and evaluating palliative care services. Included in this responsibility is developing and maintaining strong relationships with physicians and hospital staff to deliver palliative and comfort care to seriously ill and dying patients. This position is accountable for those functions which enhance the delivery of palliative care through such activities as education standards and program development quality improvement activities consultation and case management. The coordinator is responsible for promoting high quality cost effective care for palliative care patients. Also providing care education and emotional support to patients with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year acute care experience

    • ELNEC training preferred required within one year of employment

    • Hospice experience preferred

    Licensure:

    • Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) other credentials or credential modules may be required.

    Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

    Pay Range

    $42.52 - $55.37 /hour
