  • As Preconstruction Executive, you will lead all project development activities for Clark in Nashville. As part of the regional leadership team, you will ensure Clark provides world class service to our clients during the project development/preconstruction phase. You will be a champion of the project goals and objectives for the entire team. The Preconstruction Executive will plan all preconstruction activities, allocate preconstruction personnel resources, and partner with Clark's project delivery/operations leadership to ensure the success of projects. The Preconstruction Executive will communicate with the broader project team and stakeholders including as one of the primary points of contact for clients, Successful candidates will demonstrate their passion for and dedication to getting the job done.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead all activities related to client engagement, budget, schedule, procurement, and design management

    • Overall financial responsibility from project start to contract or GMP execution

    • Have thorough knowledge of the company's contracts

    • Facilitate preconstruction meetings to successfully coordinate design, budget, and schedule activities

    • Lead, train and develop team members

    • Lead subcontractor engagement strategy throughout all stages of preconstruction

    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner, engineering and design firms

    • Establish deadlines and monitor the progress

    • Develop and lead the strategy to achieve minority participation requirements

    • Lead the acquisition of new work by developing and maintaining client, trade partner, and design relationships

    • Provide leadership to foster an environment of inclusion and diversity

    Basic Qualifications

    • Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline or relevant work experience

    • 10+ years of estimating, cost control, and construction experience required; working for a general contractor on large scale construction projects is highly preferred.

    • 5+ years leading, developing and motivating teams

    • Must be detail-oriented, technically sound and have good communication skills

    • Must be familiar with both conceptual, detailed, and self-perform estimating

    • Understand the nuances of varied project delivery methods to include Lump Sum Hard Bid, Progressive GMP, Target-Value Design, Design-Build, and Progressive Design-Build

    • Knowledge and experience with local subcontractor market preferred

    • Ability to make timely and effective decisions

    • Experience managing preconstruction efforts successfully from start to finish

    • Skilled at developing and negotiating relationships with owners, designers, and trade contractors

    • Strong work ethic, leadership and the ability to work in a fast paced environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • DBIA and LEED Accreditation

    • Field experience highly desired

    • Experience with Beck Destini, Assemble, and REVIT is a plus
