  • Accountable for developing substantiated strategies and tactics for the Medicare line of business at the sub-segmented level and for the execution of this marketing plan. These strategies and tactics are designed to deliver on the region's goals for sustainable growth at an expected margin.

    Essential Functions:

    • Derives, articulates and sequences line of business (LOB) strategies and tactics from market research and other sources (including experts in areas throughout Marketing/Sales in a 3-year marketing plan and refreshes the plan periodically and as market and other key conditions evolve.- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with internal partners within and outside Medicare Marketing and appropriately involves experts within other areas of the organization into the development and refinement of the LOB plans. - Coordinates and focuses activities of the Medicare team within Medicare Marketing. - This includes interviewing, selecting, training, motivating, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and terminating in compliance with EEO/AA goals and personnel policies of the organization. - Monitors performance of the LOB and ensures that required metrics are included in, updated and reported from Active Strategy.- Partners with Medicare Sales to develop processes and analyses that support sales activities for membership growth and retention.- Maintains current information and knowledge of all applicable Kaiser Permanente policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.- Ensures that the training activities incorporate all applicable KP policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.- Other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:Experience- Minimum eight (8) years of relevant health care marketing, or closely related progressive experience that demonstrates many of the skills/abilities listed below. - Minimum three (3) years of management experience required.- Experience should include Medicare, managed care, indemnity insurance, and knowledge of health insurance sales. Education- Bachelor's degree required.License, Certification, Registration- N/A Additional Requirements:- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal partners.- Managerial skills to coordinate and focus activities of business line team, and to professionally develop members of the team and manage performance.- Ability to work well with regional senior leaders. - Strong collaboration, communication and presentation skills.- Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

    Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in Medicare, especially in the area of Medicare Strategic Thinking and Medicare product development. - Good organizational skills. - Project management experience. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Experience in market segmentation preferred.- CMS PBP experience preferred. - Master's degree preferred in health administration, business administration, or similar field.
