    This position oversees the planning, execution, and completion of vegetation management projects. This includes coordinating activities, resources, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.

    • Full-Time +, Non-Exempt

    Pay

    • $30.00 - $40.00 per hour / Depending on experience and certifications.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.

    • Coordinates with the project crew to ensure all project data, costs, and hours are captured and updated in company records regularly.

    • Coordinates with customers to bid on projects and estimate costs.

    • Meet with customers to ensure contract productivity and address any areas of concern

    • Assist with basic accounting tasks like reconciling costs and time spent on projects, material on site, etc.

    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure safety and compliance.

    • Keeping detailed notes and logs of change orders and job site notes.

    • Work with the management team to resolve or address personnel issues.

    • Visit job sites to review and document crew productivity and address any safety concerns.

    • Assist with training field employees utilizing the company's LCQS program and Driving Standards.

    • Support management team with daily needs and report directly to regional manager.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.

    • Ability to plan, organize, and execute projects efficiently, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

    • Need to have a general knowledge of the Vegetation Management industry.

    • Knowledgeable of OSHA and WA L&I laws that apply to line clearance tree trimming.

    • Basic computer skills and comfortable utilizing MS Office programs

    • Proficient in both written and verbal communication.

    • Ability to anticipate and address challenges that might arise during the project life cycle.

    • Must be highly organized and able to track many details on the go.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred but not required.

    • Experience bidding and managing projects.

    • 2 years of experience managing line clearance tree crews is required.

    Pre-Screen:

    • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

    License & Certifications:

    • A valid Driver's license is required.

    • A CDL is preferred but not required.

    Travel Requirements

    • Must have transportation to and from the show-up location.

    • Travels from Job site to job site as frequently as necessary.

    Physical Requirements

    • RARE (less than 10%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body-twisting, crawling, climbing poles, color vision, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.

    • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): sitting, manual dexterity, climbing on/off truck, gripping, reaching, range of motion, carrying, balancing, lifting up to 50 lbs.

    • FREQUENT (up to 66%): standing, walking, sense of touch, seeing distant, hearing-speech range, depth perception.

    • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): seeing, speaking clearly.

    Safety

    Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.

    • Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature, i.e., irritating plants and biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.

    • May work around excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, woodchippers, and other equipment with hearing protection.

    • May work on unlevel terrain.

    • May be exposed to dogs and other animals.

    As a full-service utility contractor Asplundh performs tree pruning and removals, right-of-way clearing and maintenance, vegetation management with herbicides, and emergency storm work and logistical support. Asplundh is the parent company of Asplundh Infrastructure Group whose subsidiaries provide overhead and underground line construction, planning and design, meter reading and AMR/AMI installation, electrical testing, and street lighting/traffic signal services.
