  • Leader of Product Strategy & Development and Project Management functions which include product planning (LRPP), organizing of product life cycle, optimizing profitability of assigned product lines, NPD projects and associated budget. Manages project management team for NPD projects. Tasked with building a high-performing team and culture that can achieve financial goals set forth by the business unit.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

    ·Position Bennington as an innovation leader in the pontoon boat segment

    ·Leads Product Development and Project Management

    ·Responsible for the definition and execution of overall product strategy including full lifecycle management, product requirements and the generation/analysis of market research for new and emerging products

    ·Prepares product scopes and works closely with the Product Development & Engineering departments to ensure new product meets the expectations of all customer channels

    ·Assists management in ensuring product margins meet company objectives.

    ·Conducts marketing analysis to develop product definitions

    ·Coordinates or helps develop marketing, sales, engineering, and financial plans for product line

    ·Provides financial and technical justification for product selection and definition

    ·Prepares product development objectives and schedules introduction to market

    ·Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, procurement, customer service and warranty to develop and provide product support responsive to customer needs and market opportunities

    ·Leader in competitive research and analysis - highly aware and in-tune with market trends and competitor products by price segment

    ·Innovation - Be cognizant of emerging products, technologies and trends within the marine or similar industries and leverage this innovation where applicable

    ·Collaborates with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams on technical product development and release to production

    ·Reviews progress continually through product life cycle to ensure attainment of objectives

    • Collaborate with a cross-functional project teams utilizing internal and external resources to implement projects and ensure goals are being met by prioritizing, monitoring and executing workflows

    • Proactively escalate and inform of all project lifecycle projects by tracking and reporting on tollgates, deliverables, derailers, deadlines, resource staffing, and other issues to facilitate joint problem solving

    • Prepare product scopes on multiple projects while simultaneously working closely with the brand managers and industrial design team to ensure new products meet and exceed the expectations of our customer

    • Assists the General Manager to ensure product margins meet/exceed Company objectives

    • Help facilitate financial and technical justification for product selection, collaborate on design direction and final product verifications

    • Prepare product development objectives and coordinate all phases of product development life cycle through introduction to market

    • Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Brand Management, Product Development, Industrial Design, Engineering, and Operations to develop and provide product support responsive to customer needs and market opportunities

    • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college/university or experience in project management, sales, or marketing

    • The individual must have the ability to adapt and work in an ever-changing work

    • Excellent communication and project management experience

    • Ability to understand and make decisions based on market research and financial/technical analysis of emerging markets, consumer wants and product need

    • Prior experience in the Marine Industry is a plus but not required

    • Ability to work with complex cross functional teams
