That same year we welcomed two new businesses to the family: Knock Knock and Em & Friends, known for their innovative gift and stationery products, and Boxer Books, known for its commitment to picture books for young children.

    We're seeking a Publicist to join our team! This role collaborates on and executes the title-specific publicity strategy for a diverse list of titles in the Union Square & Co. adult publishing program, which includes fiction, narrative and prescriptive nonfiction, food and drink, decorating, health and wellness, humor, classics, and pop culture. The goal is to increase awareness, drive sales and grow the visibility of our authors and titles.

    This is a hybrid role requiring 2 - 3 days/ week in our New York, NY headquarters.

    An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate between $70,000 and $75,000, depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.

    WhatYouDo

    • Manage all aspects of publicity campaigns for an assigned list of titles, from pre-awareness through publication and sustainment

    • Pitch and secure national, regional, and trade media for reviews, interviews, and features across print, radio, television, podcasts, influencers and digital outlets

    • Plan and execute dynamic author events, including coordinating with booksellers and venues, and arranging travel

    • Provide attentive author care and maintain consistent communication with authors, agents, and the internal publishing teams

    • Communicate publicity and marketing strategy & campaigns during key meetings with editors, authors, and agents as well as via internal media alerts

    • Create press materials and develop creative and targeted pitches

    Knowledge&Experience:

    • Minimum 3-4 years of publicity experience in book publishing

    • Established relationships with media contacts

    • Proficient in Muck Rack

    • Experience working on fiction and/or nonfiction titles

    • Strong written and verbal communications skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

    • Experience and proven results managing book launches and press events

    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and engage with authors and media partners

    • Ability to work within established deadlines and budgets
