    Evaluates, plans, organizes, implements, directs, and coordinates department inpatient and outpatient operations encompassing:

    Diagnostic Radiology- ultrasound, angiography, nuclear medicine, CT scan, MRI, EKG, echocardiography

    Interventional Radiology- Cath lab and all associated procedures and IR procedure areas

    Ensures activities of the department operate in a manner consistent with the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Submits fiscal departmental goals, objectives, plans and budgets for administrative review and approval and makes periodic verbal and written progress reports to the Radiology Chief as needed. Consults on a regular basis with the Germantown Medical Director and both diagnostic and interventional managers who oversee the day-to-day operations of their respective departments.

    Has direct responsibility for program management and development, human resource management, material and facilities management, interdepartmental and medical staff relationships as well as quality assurance.

    Assures that Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging Services function in an efficient, effective manner according to recognized standards of excellence. Evaluates service operations obtaining information from medical staff and nursing division. Develops/revises policies and procedures for operation of the department and submits to the Department of Radiology Chief for review and approval.

    Overall department oversight as below

    Evaluating of staff and staff counseling.

    Attend meetings as necessary.

    Staff education.

    Staff orientation.

    Competency assessment.

    Process improvement.

    Assure Joint Commission compliance.

    Oversee department budgets.

    Staff time and attendance oversight

    Implement new projects: equipment, rooms, and associated radiology project needs.

    Oversight of state inspections.

    Attend committees as assigned.

    Implement radiation safety.

    Coordinate downtimes.

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

    Completion of a Bachelor's degree program in Radiologic Science, Business Administration or Allied Health required. Advanced level education in Business/Health Services Administration is preferred.

    Four years of supervisory level experience in position of Director or Assistant Director in a comparably sized department is required.

    Demonstrated capability in effectively and efficiently managing human, material, capital, and financial resources.

    Demonstrated capability in expanding service utilization levels and increasing staff productivity.

    Demonstrated capability in assessing current services, evaluating alternative approaches and implementing programs, which revise, expand or modify the scope of Medical Imaging Services.

    Demonstrated capability in establishing and maintaining effective, cooperative working relationships with Medical, Administrative, and professional staff.
