6 East is a 30-bed, blended acuity unit specializing in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery patient populations. The unit is comprised of 6 Progressive Care beds and 24 telemetry beds. With a vision of healing hearts without skipping a beat, our team provides exceptional care to patients with a variety of cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular conditions. This population of patients includes pre and post CABG, Heart Valve surgery, Septal Myectomy, Aneurysm Repair, Thoracotomy, Femoral-Popliteal bypass and other acute cardiothoracic and vascular conditions. Our team includes a great group of Heathcare professionals committed to the delivery of safe, high-quality care to our patients.

6 East offers a unique pathway for those nurses who are interested in professional growth and progressing their career. The pathway offers opportunity for growth within the procedural and surgical areas. Our unit has a close relationship with the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, and we prepare our nurses for a seamless transition into the intensive care setting, should this be the path they choose.

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is now offering up to a Full Time $5,000 and Part Time $3,333 in signing bonuses for our Registered Nurse positions. {IF a Licensed role include: Registered Nurse position must be licensed with at least one (1) year of Registered Nurse experience to be eligible for the signing bonus.}

Important Details

Signing Bonuses are paid out in three payments. You will receive your first payment (one third of the total amount) upon completion of the first 30 days of employment.

You will receive the second payment upon completion of six (6) months and the third payment (final of the total amount) owe upon completion of one year following your start date.

The bonus payments will be paid on the next regular pay day following the date on which you become eligible for the bonus. All payments are subject to applicable taxes.

Full time status at LHMC is considered for the schedules greater than or equal to 30 hours per week; part-time is 20-29 hours per week. Roles less than Full-Time will be prorated. Please note, per diem employees are not eligible for the signing bonus.

To be eligible

Current and former BILH candidates - restrictions apply. Employees within the BILH system are not eligible for the bonus or if you have been employed by a BILH entity within the last 12-months.

If you leave Lahey Hospital & Medical Center before your first Anniversary you will pay back the signing bonus.

Please note, signing bonuses are subject to change based on the organizations hiring needs and will be determined by Talent Acquisition on an ongoing basis. BILH/LHMC Talent Acquisition reserves the right to change signing bonus eligible jobs and amounts at any time.

Education:?

Graduate of a 2-4 year state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing?

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:?

a. Demonstrates the necessary clinical skills and technical knowledge to provide care for patients according to Nursing Policy and Procedures. See Skill Record.?

b. Demonstrates the necessary clinical skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to the clinic specific competencies.?

c. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.?

Qualifications

BSN preferred?

At least 1 year of previous of Nursing experience in acute care or sub-acute setting required?

Current Massachusetts registered Nurse license required.?

Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required?

Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills?

Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs?
