    Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Intermediate Care Float Pool at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank Campus in Minneapolis, MN.

    The Intermediate Care Float Pool RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with sophisticated medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions.     Schedule: This position will be working 0.9 FTE ( 72 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the Night shift with an every third weekend rotation (F,S,S) and a holiday rotation.

    About Our IMC Float Pool Department at the UMMC West Bank:

    • Our team is prepared to work with a variety of complex, high acuity adult patient diagnoses.

    • You will float to General Med/Surg, Orthopedic Med/Surg, IMC, Acute Rehab Center, Transitional Care Unit, and the Emergency Department!

    • Adaptability, willingness to learn, and critical thinking skills are all important to be successful in this position.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    The RN is responsible and accountable for patient assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention application, and the identification and evaluation of outcomes for patients of all ages and populations. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act:

    • Providing care in an empathetic, equal opportunity manner that is crucial to patients and family's diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.

    • Conducting ongoing assessments as determined by patient's condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures or protocols and prioritizes care accordingly.

    • Establishing and implementing nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge.

    • Prioritizing, delegating, and maintaining oversight of duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader.

    • Maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility.

    • Demonstrating the ability to deliver care or service by adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

    • Collaborating with patients, families, and health care team members.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications :

    • Associate Degree in Nursing

    • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    • Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire

    • Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg Acute Care Experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher

    • 1 year of Telemetry Experience

    • 1year of Peripheral IV start experience

    • 1 year of Emergency Department, Intermediate, or Progressive Care Unit Experience
