  • The Opportunity

    The Sr. Account Manager is responsible for the management, coordination and profitable building of Account(s) Regionally or divisionally, through strategic implementation of customer-centric solutions across the Home, Beauty and Healthcare packaging segments. You will target and win new and profitable sales with new and existing customers through business development, margin enhancement, WestRock cross-selling, Innovations and NPI. The Sr. Account Manager monitors financial performance and corrects as needed against budget and plan via IBP forecast. May be regionally responsible for part of a global Key Account OR leads account within Region or Division

    How you will impact WestRock

    • Develop, grow, and maintain the agreed customer account plan (s) and achieve against plan and timescales

    • Lead regional discussions, negotiations, and the pricing recommendation of all relevant regional Account bids & tender management in conjunction with & as approved by Sales Director

    • Effectively communicate with the sales team / wider global key Account team as appropriate.

    • Drive high standards of customer relationship management (CRM) and Sales Plan execution.

    • Provide accurate short-, medium- and long-term reporting and forecasts as necessary to support business planning activities.

    • Pro-actively work with Group Marketing and the wider Account team on seeking out detailed market analysis (including competitor activity and market trends) to support the Key Account plan longer term

    • Work proactively with Commercial and Operations colleagues to introduce and implement margin enhancement opportunities with all work won.

    • Target, develop and negotiate with new sales relationships to increase sales volume and maximize profitability in the company's products and services with objective of enhancing a multi-channel supplier strategy

    • Develop new business through working with regional sales teams, new prospects/customers including site visits and phone contact.

    • Relationship builder internally and externally with senior customer reps; strategic alliances (high and wide).

    • Has responsibility for & drives the VOC (voice of customer) process

    • Supports the Global Key Account strategy, annual sales budgets and identification of targets for business development purposes

    What you need to succeed

    • Sales leadership experience with a history of success for a minimum of 5 years

    • Bachelor's degree preferably in Packaging or a related field OR 5 years relevant Sales experience

    • Proven track record of sales success & delivery

    • Proven successful key account management experience preferably operating in a global matrix driven manufacturing environment

    • Proven ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships

    • Highly collaborative; building alliances and cadence with business leaders, operations, sales, interaction with customers

    • Excellent personal computer skills, MS Office, ~~~ or similar CRM

    • Effective business presentation skills in 'one-on-one' and group settings.

    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
