Job Responsibilities

• Partnering with segment stakeholders to form a collaborative, communicative working relationship; act as liaison between Controllership Group and segments

• Working closely with segment stakeholders to ensure activities are recorded accurately and timely

• Ensuring monthly activities are properly recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP and GATX accounting policies through reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Reviewing and managing the monthly & quarterly reporting packages including income statement and balance sheet variance analysis, key performance metrics, and statement of cash flows

• Reviewing and managing the preparation of schedules to assist financial reporting team with 10-Q and 10-K disclosure requirements

• Collaborating with FP& A to provide robust internal reporting and trend analysis for Controller & other various stakeholders

• Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP

• Providing support to stakeholders and accounting policy team with technical accounting research, accounting memo authorship, and various ad hoc inquiries

• Assist with external and internal audit requests

• Being a thought leader to drive consistency and improvement through identification and implementation of best practices, including possible automation

• Assist management in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal control environment

• Managing, training and coaching personnel under supervision

• Assisting team members and others across the organization to understand and accurately use financial information

• Other special projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting and/or Controller.

• Lead accounting contact for the company's controls, systems and accounting policies & procedures

• Support 10-Q and 10-K schedule and disclosure requirements for the company

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting / finance. CPA desired (MBA or Masters in Accounting, a plus).

• Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience. Ideally a combination of Big 4 public accounting firm and multinational public company experience.

• Experience managing a team with multiple direct reports

• Experience in Microsoft Excel

• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and SAP
