    Job Summary

    The Senior Accounting Manager will lead a high impact, dynamic team responsible for ensuring proper recognition and allocation of Compass Group volume allowances.

    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Manage, develop, and motivate the team responsible for ensuring proper recognition and allocation of purchasing volume allowances through analysis and quality control check.

    • Provide development and growth opportunities to the team, while also providing constructive feedback. Lead open two-way communication with team. Assist team in understanding how they contribute to the vision of the department and the organization.

    • Foster and build relationships with business partners in Foodbuy and the Compass organization. Understand and anticipate challenges to support business needs.

    • Liaison between Foodbuy Accounting and Technical Accounting to ensure proper income recognition and contract compliance.

    • Strive for accounting excellence by ensuring complete, timely and accurate monthly financials and reporting.

    • Understand, implement, and adhere to proper accounting controls and KFCs.

    • Drive transformational process automation and improvements within Foodbuy Accounting and set the tone for positive change management and strong morale, instilling ownership and autonomy within team members. Encourage team to take initiative on process improvements and challenge existing processes.

    • Complete special projects as assigned by Accounting Director and/or Senior Management

    • Act as lead contact for external audit, including managing inquiries and reviewing deliverables

    • Oversight of Foodbuy Accounting balance sheet; including monthly review, reporting package to Corporate, and meetings.

    Requirements

    • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA a plus

    • CPA certifications/candidate or MBA preferred

    • 8+ years of accounting experience

    • 3+ years of suppliers / customer contract accounting experience

    • 4+ years of management experience

    • Proficient with Office 365 application (Excel, Power Bi, SharePoint preferred)

    • Experience with SAP, Essbase/Hyperion a plus

    • Experience with a large company (> $3 billion sales preferred)

    Other Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong Accounting knowledge and analytical skills

    • Excellent problem-solving, process improvement and experience processing and analyzing large amounts of data

    • Prioritize and manage projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with all levels of Management

    • Committed and enthusiastic approach to delivering solutions to business customers

    • An established reputation for integrity

    • Hands on experience with process improvement methodologies and project management, preferred

    • Ability to implement a department vision as set by Sr. management and lead a team toward accomplishing that vision

    • Ability to foster solid business partnerships across multiple disciplines and gain buy -in on pursuing 'opportunities' identified

    • Food Industry experience is a plus

    • Proven track record of developing associates by challenging, empowering, and supporting them
