    Are you successful in A&AS / SETA Business Development? We are looking to add a successful A&AS / SETA business development manager to our dynamic group of problem solvers at the Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc . We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Business Development Manager (Hybrid Role in NCR) who is primarily responsible to develop new and viable pipelines for multiple opportunities in the National Capitol Region (NCR) and booking the results as contract wins. The expected customer focus area for this position is DoD and DHS, and their Components, but could be adjusted based on candidate's background. The successful Sr. Business Development Manager will also assist with developing a high-performing, cohesive group of employee-owners in the NCR working in an environment where technical excellence, outstanding customer support, growth through business development, innovation, collaboration, and responsiveness are characteristic activities.

    Anticipated annual salary range: $165,000 to $195,000. Offer may vary depending on experience, skill set, and location within NCR.

    What you'll do as a Senior Business Development Manager:

    • Develop new and key business relationships in the government marketplace, with a primary responsibility for identifying and developing opportunities for business expansion

    • Supports the development of customer or market penetration strategies and individual opportunity win strategies, account plans, technology development plans, and partnering strategies

    • Ensures that the business development strategy is implemented

    • Maintains extensive knowledge of the current developments in the government marketplace in order to assess and improve the position of the company

    • Makes recommendations for change or modification to strategy

    • May lead teams in order to develop and deliver various professional services solutions to include whitepapers, demonstrations, proposals and other internally developed products used to identify, qualify and capture new business

    • Emphasize Corporate capabilities, past performance, and outstanding customer support as the foundation for customer satisfaction

    • Emphasize technical excellence and outstanding customer support as the foundation for customer satisfaction, follow-on work, and marketing

    • Lead marketing/business development for current and new clients to meet group's growth goals

    • Meet with Government and industry customers, partners, and ARA team members on a regular basis to guide, review, and plan future projects

    • Present company-wide capabilities for various purposes as needed and/or directed, and collaborate with other units in ARA on multi-disciplinary opportunities

    • Lead proposal efforts and prepare cost estimates in line with ARA and the division's policies and procedures

    • Collaborate effectively with other groups/divisions on joint proposals

    Must Haves as Senior Business Development Manager:

    • Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 12+ years of experience OR 20+ years of experience in lieu of degree

    • At least 10 years as a successful business developer for medium to large opportunities $5M-$500M in the federal space with a portfolio to cite as reference

    • Motivated to market and develop business, understand the critical nature of this activity to ARA's growth goals

    • Desire to grow and build A&AS, SETA, and/or technical areas of interest with an entrepreneurial drive

    • Demonstrated proposal writing and management skills

    • Positive presence in front of customers

    • Strong interpersonal skills; leads by example

    • Ability to communicate effectively

    • Strong work ethic; willing to do what it takes and make sacrifices as needed

    • Persistent; doesn't give up easily

    • Demonstrated business acumen

    • US Citizen, and ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance

    • 15+ years as a successful business developer for medium to large opportunities $5M-$500M in the federal space with a portfolio to cite as reference
