Senior Capture Manager (Health)

Job Summary We are currently seeking a Capture Manager with a focus on Battelle's Health Business Unit. The position location is flexible with preference in Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia . Strong candidates located in other areas will be favorably considered. Frequent travel to Columbus, OH will be necessary. The Senior Capture Manager will contribute to sales growth and expand opportunities across the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of Defense (DoD), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) by developing specific and targeted capture strategies and driving contract wins focused on client missions around science, technology, research, testing and evaluation. The successful candidate will have proven business development/capture management experience (i.e., over $100M in captures ) in industry. The candidate must have proven technical expertise and relationships within HHS, DHA, DoD, and NASA or a subset thereof. The candidate will have demonstrated performance in engaging with customers, developing opportunities, and leading capture as part of a business development team and working closely with business development, operations and proposal teams. Responsibilities + Organizes/leads capture teams to establish overall solution strategies, themes and strengths that clearly differentiate Battelle from other potential offerors. + Formulates an innovative and winning solution that persuasively presents the approach that meets/exceeds the client requirements, and documents the value created for the client by this approach at a competitive price. + Uses extensive network of customer relationships, with both existing and potential Battelle clients, throughout federal agencies such as HHS, DHA, DoD, and NASA, to grow current and future business, as well as cultivate relationships with partners - small and large business and academia, as appropriate. + Provides market and competitor intelligence in the Health space, specifically around enabling human health and performance across life sciences and health research. + Organizes/leads capture teams to establish overall solution strategies, themes and strengths that clearly differentiate Battelle from other potential offerors. + Leads the developing, shaping and positioning efforts to further iterate and validate solutions with customer initiatives and requirements. + Coordinates the selection of proposal team member organizations (strategic partners, sub-contractors, universities, etc.). Effectively transitioning capture solutions to quality, compliant and compelling proposal development. + Assists the Business Unit staff in the efficient and effective use of marketing resources across multiple client organizations to achieve growth and maintain margins. + Supports the building and maintaining of a robust pipeline of leads and strategic opportunities capable of meeting or exceeding established Business Unit sales goals. Key Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science-related technical field and 15 years of experience in Federal programs and business development. + Proven track record of successfully leading and managing complex new business captures and winning large contracts with Federal clients. + Existing network of contacts within the HHS, DHA, DoD, and NASA and the ability to leverage network into the capture of qualified business opportunities. + Knowledge of competitors in this market space and experience in competitive assessment. + Experience working on teams developing large government proposals. + Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing across various levels if customer and internal organizations, from technicians to the C-Suite, and demonstrated ability to effectively persuade through technical presentations.
