    Brief Job Overview

    The Senior Operations Manager works closely with the CEO, to better leverage the CEO's engagements to help shape and execute USP objectives positioning the organization as a thought leader on advancing the supply of quality medicines around the world. Key responsibilities include:

    • Working collaboratively with relevant USP staff to plan and execute strategic engagement plans for the CEO.

    • Ensuring that the CEO is adequately prepared to maximize engagement opportunities.

    • Partnering with USP departments to create, execute and measure the impact of strategic engagement plans for the CEO.

    In this role at USP, you contribute to USP's public health mission of increasing equitable access to high-quality, safe medicine and improving global health through public standards and related programs. In addition, as part of our commitment to our employees, Global, People, and Culture, in partnership with the Equity Office, regularly invests in the professional development of all people managers. This includes training in inclusive management styles and other competencies necessary to ensure engaged and productive work environments.

    The Senior Operations Manager has the following responsibilities

    • As a strategic partner to the CEO, optimizes the CEO's current engagement opportunities and collaborates with internal partners to identify additional opportunities, including the Executive Team.

    • Identifies gaps in CEO's internal and external engagement activities and, working with internal partners, explores new avenues to effectively build USP thought leadership through CEO engagement opportunities.

    • Ensures that CEO is prepared and briefed to optimize engagement opportunities.

    • Advancing workstreams that are a priority for the CEO, including taking on a project manager role to advance CEO priorities.

    • Responsible for ensuring that CEO communications are substantive and reflect USP priorities and DEIB commitments, while also developed and informed by stakeholder priorities and appropriate research.

    • Maintains an understanding of USP's strategic direction and executive priorities and translates to the CEO's agenda.

    • Measures and reports on the effectiveness of CEO engagement activities.

    Who is USP Looking For?

    The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, a scientific discipline, health professional degree, or other relevant field.

    • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in corporate and/or executive communications/engagement in healthcare practice, health policy, or pharmaceutical industries.

    Additional Desired Preferences

    • Advanced degree in science or business.

    • Ability to write in a clear and compelling manner in different styles, voices, and tones to effectively communicate to multiple audiences.

    • Commitment to DEIB and an inclusive, global mindset.

    • Possesses an entrepreneurial and adaptive approach to work.

    • Strong business acumen with a history of cultivating trusting relationships with executive leaders.

    • Has experience with public policy and regulatory affairs disciplines. Professional or fellowship experience in a US federal agency, or Congress considered a plus.

    • Maintains and applies a strong working knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

    • Experience from a professional residency or fellowship role in a life science-based organization considered a plus.

    • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives and prioritize appropriately.

    • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.

    • An effective collaborator capable of working across the organization with staff at all levels.

    • Ability to travel internationally.
