  • Our client, int the Chemical industry] is seeking a Senior Contruction Manager to join their team. As Senior Canstruction Manager, you will be part of the New plant construction supporting located in Waggaman LA. The Sr. Project Construction Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the construction process, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, quality standards, and safety regulations.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    ? Construction Management: Lead and oversee all construction activities, including scheduling, and subcontractor management, to ensure timely and efficient project execution.

    ? Budget Management: Manage project budgets, closely monitoring expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.

    ? Quality Management: Implement quality control measures and procedures to ensure that construction activities meet or exceed industry standards and client specifications.

    ? Environmental & Safety Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and safety standards, implementing measures to mitigate risks and promote a safe working environment for all personnel.

    ? Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges, and proactively address them to minimize disruptions. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and best practices.

    ? Communication Facilitation: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and the construction company, facilitating effective communication, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment of project objectives and deliverables.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly, concisely and patiently.

    ? Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, local regulations, codes, and standards governing construction, environmental protection, and workplace safety.

    ? Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

    ? Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, work well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.

    ? Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.

    ? Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.

    ? Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings.

    Proficient in project management software, construction methodologies, and engineering principles relevant to chemical plant construction.

    ? Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    ? Ability to communicate patiently and effectively, especially when interacting with individuals whose first language is not English.

    ? Ability to speak Japanese preferred.

    Education and Experience

    ? Bachelor's degree in Chemical and / or Mechanical engineering or a related field required. A minimum of three years' experience in managing chemical construction projects and for about ten years' experience in engineering / construction work on production sites is required.

    ? Project Controls experience with integration of cost, schedule, and forecasting in support of optimized decisions.

    ? Experience in launching construction required.

    ? Professional Engineer (PE) certification for the construction engineer required. Physical Requirements:

    ? Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.

    ? Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

    ? May require overseas business trips for training purposes, with the strong possibility of domestic travel as well.

    ? Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.

    ? Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
