    SAIC is seeking a Policy Analyst to support strategic-level planning with a global focus in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's (DTRA) countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) mission. The position will also focus on the Agency's supporting plans and strategy development and support Joint Staff requests for crisis action Counter WMD/Emerging Threat planning requests. Employee will be required to research, organize, analyze, and summarize data; conduct literature searches; develop preliminary findings, conclusions, and recommendations; and draft written reports and summaries for Department of Defense policy, strategies and plans. Develop white papers, point papers, and briefings, as required. Interact with experienced technical staff, management, and government clients. Assist in the preparation, presentation, and follow-up of briefings. Plan, attend, and document meetings and conferences. Perform administrative actions as directed, e.g., process classified material, comply with administrative requirements, etc. Work will be conducted on the government site at FT Belvoir, VA. Employee may be required to travel domestically and overseas, as directed by the client. Total time spent on travel not expected to exceed 10%.

    Qualifications

    TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Required Education : BA/BS degree in a related field and 9 years or more of related experience. Masters and 7 years or more experience.

    Security Clearance: SECRET clearance is required. All applicants must be able to obtain a Top Secret/ SCI security clearance.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills

    • Background or experience wrt combating weapons of mass destruction

    • Experience with working with large DoD organizations

    • Proficient research and analytical skills

    • Experience in MS Office Suite

    Desired Skills:

    • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment with a diverse client base

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team

    • Ability to problem-solve in a time constrained environment

    • Ability to take initiative and work independently as appropriate

    • Ability to prioritize tasks through strong organizational skills

    • Military experience, or experience with contracting or the federal government a plus

    • Master's Degree in a related field

    • Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
