    Job Summary

    ABM Performance Solutions (APS) is ABM's self-delivered operational platform which incorporates all of ABM's offerings into one consolidated service model. Specifically, APS is our multi-service performance model structured to maintain the built environment with self-delivered services including cleaning, energy, sustainability, safety, resiliency, power, mechanical, electrical, EV-charging, parking, and operating engineers. Governed by a single contract, APS helps our clients improve operations, drive outcomes, and enhance resiliency and reliability of their facilities while allowing them to better focus on their core business. The Sr. Director of Operations for APS has full responsibility for a Continuous Improvement program for existing and new pursuits support. The SDO will also be responsible for Special Projects including but not limited to Capital Planning program and site support functions for the APS Enterprise Platform Team.

    Job Objective

    The Senior Director of Operations for APS will be responsible for executing Continuous Improvement processes in alignment with ABM Industry Groups (IGs) ensuring that clients outcomes are achieved, client/occupant/employee/passenger/student experience is positive, ABM financial objectives are met, and sales opportunities are supported. The SDO is also engaged with the Client Experience & Operations Support (CE-OS) Team, ABM's procurement team and rest of the APS Platform Team and our Industry Group leads. This role will also be very closely aligned with our VP of Operations, VP of Solutioning and VP of Sales for APS.

    The successful individual develops and implements operational improvement strategies, functions as the subject matter expert for APS for Continuous Improvement programs such as: Vendor Management, Vendor Partnership, Diversity Partnerships and Special Projects. This role will also have direct responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L) improvement for all APS accounts by building and deploying saving streams through these programs.

    The SDO for APS performs the summary of duties either personally, through subordinate managers or through the Industry Group (IG) Operational Network depending on the relative structure of each IG.

    Furthermore, the SDO, for APS is the designated subject matter expert for APS clients in Continuous Improvement programs and Special Projects partnering with our APS platform and each IG. The SDO, Operations for APS will be part of the APS Enterprise Platform team and strongly aligned with the ABM procurement team and other functional groups to drive Operational Improvement Excellence.

    Responsibilities:

    • Adopt and execute the processes established by the APS Platform Team for each existing account and new pursuits, understanding the different nuances of each IG.

    • Recruit, manage, and lead a management team with focus on subject matter expertise in APS.

    • Creation of a strong operations culture based on an engaged and professional workforce in a highly collaborative team atmosphere.

    • Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand a P&L statement and identify opportunities for margin improvement in each pursuit or conversion.

    • Ability to develop an internal network (with Functional Groups) and external network (perspective clients, industry, etc.).

    • Proactively identify potential risks and assign proper resources to mitigate those risks.

    • Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the division; establish and implement policies, practices, and standards to ensure operational success.

    • Take a leading role in existing accounts and business development opportunities, including site support, presentations, and perspective client engagements.

    • Collaborate with other executives, in particular ABM's Client Experience & Operations Support Team, each IG Leadership and operations teams and the rest of ABM's Performance Solutions Team, to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

    • Ensure that quality standards are assigned, measured, and met.

    • Drive a culture of safety following required safety activities, inspections, and KPI's.

    • Oversee several workflows simultaneously.

    • Drive decisions across multiple groups across the entire team.

    • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering or Facilities related curriculum, and/or equivalent work experience.

    • 10+ years of experience in operations, business development and/or supporting/overseeing sales/operations teams.

    • Experience engaging in client relationships for top tier (US and/or multi-national) corporations or institutions.

    • Familiarity and experience with enterprise software solutions related to operating the built environment such as ~~~, CMMS, BAS, BMS, WOM, and IWMS

    • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as IoT, VR, AI and Smart Buildings

    • Experience in tracking growth activity in a robust CRM System (ie: ~~~, Microsoft dynamics, etc.)

    • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management

    • Strong understanding of client/market dynamics and requirements

    • Ability to engage clients at a senior level and lead/support client business reviews, client presentations and client retention initiatives

    • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction and lay the foundation for continued growth and partnership.

    • Demonstrate a professional and adaptable demeanor with internal and external clients

    • Exercise a high degree of professionalism and self-motivation using personal initiative to identify and recommend best practices.

    • Excellent verbal, written communication skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization

    • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

    • Exhibit high energy level, and demonstrate ability to work as a valuable contributor to the team as well as be a highly motivated candidate with the ability to work independently in a highly fluid and collaborative environment

    • Must be well-informed of market trends, regulations, and best practice in maintaining and operating built environments as well as being willing to participate in panel discussions, conferences, network organizations, and focus groups

    • Must understand accounts receivable processes, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and general knowledge of financial performance to achieve positive value for ABM and our stockholders

    • Must be able to work with Microsoft suite of products such as PowerPoint, PBI, Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, and OneNote

    • Proven leadership and ability to collaborate in a dynamic diverse environment
