  • Position Summary...

    What you'll do...

    We are seeking a highly skilled, professional technical product manager to join our dynamic and growing team. In this position, you will oversee all technical product manager needs. As part of the US Omni, Data Customer & Analytics, this role will be crucial enabler of our Walmart's Marketplace Acceleration strategy. You will work collaboratively with business stakeholder, customer success, scrum masters, program management and engineering teams to ensure on time delivery with quality results.

    What you'll do:

    Technical Product Development Roadmap: Develops and manages the implementation of the product development roadmap for a moderately-to-highly complex product knowledge of marketplace strategy and input from marketplace managers and team members in related functions. Plans and coordinates technology developments (e.g., functionality enhancements, product/ data asset, tools, pipeline, and dashboards) and ensures technology forecasts are integrated into roadmap based on knowledge of short- and longer-term needs of a moderately-to highly complex category. Reviews and updates roadmap as business needs change to maintain alignment to overall marketplace strategy.

    Technical Product Development Lifecycle: Manages and executes product development lifecycle (from concept to phasing-out technology products or features) across multiple disciplines within a moderately-to-highly complex category, ensuring achievement of product development objectives and identifying and prioritizing tradeoffs across product development initiatives. Reviews product development lifecycle/process across multiple disciplines for a moderately-to-highly complex marketplace strategy and develops contingency plans to manage risk or address identified challenges.

    Research and Analysis: Manages and reviews product research and analysis performed by Associate Product Managers for a moderately-to-highly complex category. Leverages research/analytical outcomes and knowledge of the category and external market (research and sales) to suggest enhancements to product development strategy or implement changes to the lifecycle process. Reviews market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify evolving trends in product development.

    Collaboration: Collaborates with cross-functional teams (marketplace management, merchandising, marketing, engineering) and external supplier teams to gather input on product requirements and execute the product development roadmap for a moderately-to-highly complex. Partners with suppliers to develop product and end-user requirements.

    People Development: Builds and leads a team to execute on business area or marketplace objectives. Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance. Has performance and career development conversations. Maintains team motivation and engagement. Mentors Associate Product Managers.

    Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; accordingly, developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

    Provides development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.

    Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open-Door Policy.

    Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in technical field, such as computer science, engineering, or related fields.

    • Minimum of 5 years of total work experience in a combination of technology development, product management, business analysis or strategy.

    • Knowledge and working experience in cloud and data technologies: GIT, SQL, Spark, Druid, Hive, Hadoop, Teradata, and Big Query, Tableau, Power BI and Looker visualization tools.

    • Capable of managing numerous stakeholders, anticipating their needs, and gaining alignment for strategies from executive level stakeholders.

    • Strong communication skills (oral, verbal and listening) as well as the ability to influence key decision makers and understand their points of view.

    • Strong leadership, negotiation, and execution skills with the ability to drive results, deliver and excel, and own it when you don't.

    • Comfortable in a fast paced, growing environment and work well with ambiguity.

    • Comfortable presenting to and persuading at Vice Presidential and Senior Vice-Presidential levels.

    • Proven ability to drive results, especially in a matrixed or influence based environment.

    • Understands, describes and navigates existing work and makes recommendations with a clear sense of organizational impact.

    Additional Qualification

    • Experience in practicing agile methodologies - Scrum, XP, Kanban, and Scrumban .

    • Proficiency in using tools such as Jira Board, Confluence, Roadmap Tools, spreadsheets.

    • Preferred: Technical experience in Data Engineering domain.

    • Preferred: Product Management Certification, Certified Scrum Professional (CSPO) & (CSM).
