  • A Day in the Life:

    The Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team acts as a liaison with all operating Divisions, and Corporate areas to ensure activities are consistent with approved Senior Management objectives for revenue generation, profitability and efficiency, and is responsible for the global coordination, analysis and review of the company's financial position.

    The starting salary for this position is $170K; commensurate with experience.

    What You'll Do:

    The Sr. Director, Financial Planning and Analysis position sits at the intersection of strategy formulation, corporate development, and long/mid/short-term planning and execution. They are principally responsible for managing the strategic planning process of the Company and creating the narrative of company performance. This includes the ongoing underwriting of initiatives and competitive strategies while tracking the achievement of the Company's financial objectives. The role will maintain various scenarios around company performance and prepare alternative strategies for Senior Management, including all corporate development opportunities.

    This individual will prepare strong analytics to better understand internal and external factors that influence performance, and will keep a pulse on the broader economy and its effect on Hertz's strategy within the travel, mobility, and automotive industries. They will prepare comprehensive presentations to articulate the past and future performance, drivers, and create the narrative of the Company performance for internal and external stakeholders including the Board of Directors.

    • Lead process and preparation of annual target and budget, understanding key drivers and variances to prior year

    • Manage ongoing strategic planning process by gathering relevant data and supporting business leaders in the creation of competitive strategies

    • Maintain an agile scenario planning model and process within the standard forecast and budgeting cycles planning to assess competitive strategies and pressure-test ranges of outcomes

    • Provide leadership and analytical support on various special projects to enhance the financial decision-making process

    • Strategically analyze the competitive landscape to better understand the industry dynamics and trajectory

    • Work with business unit leaders and data analytics teams to synthesize industry and economic trends into clear, actionable insights

    • Develop and produce high quality analytics and presentation materials for all Board of Directors meetings and support other various external financial stakeholder reporting

    • Provide thought and executional leadership for transformation initiatives, operational improvements and cost reductions

    • Leverage financial and operational data to identify opportunities for improved performance within rental operations and corporate functions

    • Lead financial modeling and analysis and partner with business leaders in the generation of corporate development opportunities

    • Create and oversee financial models for ad hoc analysis for various initiatives

    • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to escalate opportunities and risks to strategic objectives.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Proven track record (15 - 20 years) of extensive experience in all aspects of financial management including financial planning, corporate finance, accounting, tax and acquisitions/divestitures.

    • Financial leadership role in major U.S. or international public company.

    • Proven experience in managing global close cycles, monthly forecasts and annual operating plan

    • Experience creating materials for Board of Directors-level audiences

    • Experience leading or playing strong role in corporate development / M&A is a plus

    • Strategy development experience is a plus

    • Proven ability to effectively lead global processes (Annual Operating Plan) and implement cross-functional projects/reporting

    • Ability to influence cross-functional teams to act and drive change management

    • Strong ability and desire to translate Corporate vision into results

    • Exceptional financial and business acumen

    • Experience with various analytical methods such as forecasting, variance analysis, NPV/IRR analysis, capital efficiency, etc.

    • Strategic skills required to conceptualize, communicate, and execute weekly, monthly and annual deliverables

    • Leadership skills to act as a change agent and project management skills to drive process improvement

    • Strong written and oral communicative skills and the ability to operate effectively at all levels within a complex and dynamic organization

    • Flexible team player able to work to meet deadlines

    • Excellent attention to detail

    • Willingness to take on additional responsibility and lead organizational change

    • Strong time management skills and effectively able to prioritize tasks as needed

    • Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced work environment

    • Can teach and demonstrate strong technical abilities of financial modeling in Microsoft Excel

    • Skilled in creating Powerpoint presentations

    • Strong executive presence - both written and oral

    • Demonstrated strong analytical skills

    • Proven ability to develop talent and leaders
