  • Position Summary

    Sr Manager Compensation is responsible for the design and implementation of compensation plans and programs that attract and retain talent, drive business results, and reward AutoZoners. This role will develop, implement, and evaluate AutoZone's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and the rewards performance management programs. Collaborates with senior leadership to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the business objectives and meet all legal requirements. The leader provides subject matter expertise and guidance to leaders and other professionals regarding compensation recommendations, strategy, administration, procedures and policies, and communication.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Partnering and collaborating with business leaders and HR (Human Resources) Business Partners on compensation philosophies, programs, policies, and practices. Developing solutions for compensation-related issues

    • Providing guidance on job evaluations and recommendations to HR Business Partners and Recruiting.

    • Conducting robust and meaningful analysis for management to use in making decisions related to compensation programs.

    • Managing and overseeing executive and non-executive incentive plans with multiple designs and payout frequencies, including sales incentive plans.

    • Managing the period review of the Company's annual bonus plan eligibility and the year-end funding allocations, manager planning, system calculations and timely global payouts.

    • Managing salary structures development, base pay programs, including the annual merit/market increase processes, recommending annual salary budgets, and providing cost analyses

    • Overseeing the analysis of market competitiveness, global job evaluations, and salary survey selection and participation

    • Coordinating with HRIS (HUMAN RESOURCE INFORMATION SYSTEMS) the management of Compensation tools (People Fluent, Oracle HCM (Human Capital Management) system), including identification of system enhancements, testing, and incentive and merit administration

    • Track and audit compensation programs, policies, and practices to ensure continued integration with business and enterprise requirements, market competitiveness, legal compliance, and cost effectiveness.

    • Monitor internal and external rewards wage - hour laws and practices that would impact the rewards program.

    • Develop and conduct formal and informal training and presentations, as necessary.

    • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, provincial and local regulations. Maintaining an awareness of regulatory changes and the potential impact of those changes on current and future compensation requirements

    • Managing global survey participation, submission, and purchases; monitor and evaluate benchmark data, pay structures, economic trends & projections and recommend changes as appropriate to maintain a competitive market position and internal equity.

    • Overseeing the Company's compensation benchmarking tool to ensure accuracy; managing the vendor to ensure the tool's functionality is up to date and supports the global compensation function and the Company's business objectives.

    • Supporting and/or leading special projects, as needed, such as acquisition integration, organizational re-structuring, systems implementation, etc.

    • Experience with developing and administering equity and other long-term incentive plans is a plus

    Experience

    • Proficiency in MS Office programs (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    • Requires 10+ years of relevant experience

    • Requires previous experience, knowledge, understanding in the design, development & administration of compensation programs. Retail preferred within a large, multi-site global corporation.

    • Requires knowledge and understanding of compensation programs and philosophies.

    • Requires experience with matrix organization and complex work environment.

    • Requires proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Cloud based technologies.

    • Experience with developing and administering equity and other long-term incentive plans is a plus.

    • International experience especially in Brazil, India, China and Europe is preferred.

    • Multi-lingual in English, Portugues and/or Spanish is a plus.
