    We are seeking a staff accountant to join the accounting team with excellent communication and leadership skills. The staff accountant provides financial support to the business by ensuring proper accounting, resolving discrepancies, and preparing financial reports according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. This will be a great opportunity for you to have a key role in the accounting close for a billion-dollar plus business while supporting our modernization initiatives within the overall finance department.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Assists with monthly review of Work in Process (WIP) and cost reports

    • Supports monthly close process including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and processing of WIP

    • Assists in preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

    • Conducts contract analysis ensuring alignment with the organization's accounting practices

    • Supports internal and external audits by providing relevant reports and documentation

    • Partner with finance team members to support field operations timely and effectively

    • Supports prequalification filings with state/local agencies

    • Carefully follows established policy framework to resolve problems

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting required

    • 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred

    • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, formulas, etc.

    • Excellent customer service including ability to interact with all levels timely and effectively

    • Professional communication both written and verbal

    • Able to collaborate with multiple team members in both the corporate office and field, while also possessing the skillset to work thru tasks independently

    • Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously as related to the monthly close process.

    • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
