Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team in the real estate and property industry. The position is based in OAK BROOK, Illinois, and will focus on the role of a Staff Accountant. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities include

• Conducting regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.

• Investigating and resolving discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records promptly.

• Utilizing financial software such as Yardi for recording, tracking, and reconciling financial transactions.

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with accounting standards.

• Collaborating with other departments to obtain necessary financial information and ensure alignment with company-wide financial goals.

• Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial transactions and discrepancies.

• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports by providing accurate and reconciled financial data.

• Contributing to the generation of financial statements for management and regulatory reporting.

• Identifying opportunities for process improvement in bank reconciliation procedures.

• Proposing and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes. Requirements - Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is required

• Must have experience with General Ledger management

• Demonstrated skills in Account Reconciliation are necessary

• Familiarity with Yardi property management software is essential

• Ability to manage Adjusting Journal Entries is required

• Experience in the Real Estate & Property industry is desirable

• Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is essential

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required

• Must be detail-oriented and organized

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation is desirable

• Must have excellent numerical skills and an understanding of data privacy standards

• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
