Robert Half is looking to find a talented, efficient Staff Accountant to join an esteemed organization in the Education - University industry. In the role of Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. A good deal of time in this Staff Accountant position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. As a Staff Account Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

• Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner

• Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Requirements

The Ideal Staff Accountant will meet the following Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Recent and relevant accounting experience

• Efficient in ERP systems

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Comprehensive knowledge of Concur Expense

• General ledger experience

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
