  • Job Description

    We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager I to support the Rooms Textiles team. The Manager is responsible for managing suppliers and contracts related to the support of customer programs, initiatives and projects. The Manager will actively manage planning and execution of textile contracting initiatives that result in successful contracts that support the needs of our customers. The Manager will develop a plan to conduct the initiative that leverages best practices and sound processes.

    The role requires judgment to adjust the process to enable creating a successful contract in an efficient manner, will oversee a portfolio of contracts in which s/he will ensure the supplier meets their contract commitments and that customers? needs are being met.

    The Manager will collaborate with the larger Rooms Textiles team to support the overall category strategy. The Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders in the successful execution of activities related to implementing contracts and projects that support Avendra?s customers.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Author planning initiatives; manages annual plan by creating realistic timelines and meeting milestones, communicates initiative status; leads effective supplier negotiation and pricing strategy development efforts which integrates Avendra's principles and value proposition

    • Implements all aspects of client Development teams for initiatives, i.e., identify the correct participants, solicit input at the appropriate times, run meetings, etc.

    • Manage Business Ownership activity for his/her portfolio of contracts and categories

    • Build and maintain supplier relationships; hold suppliers accountable to deliver contractual commitments

    • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders on Sourcing activities and projects

    • Make presentations to internal and external teams, Avendra customers and suppliers

    • Strong focus on delivering customer savings and enterprise value

    • Review and assess customer spend data to understand trends, insights and break down data to influence strategy

    Role Requirements

    • Knowledge of supply chain, textiles category management and/or hospitality preferred or strong ability to develop knowledge of new categories

    • Solid business judgment and acumen

    • Strong analytical thinking that leads to fact-based decision making

    • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills

    • Strong contracts and negotiation skills

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills

    • Excellent customer service skills and responsiveness

    • Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and clients

    • Ability to perform in depth analysis, interpret data and present results into actionable steps to senior leadership

    • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

    • Strong attention to detail and process orientation

    • Intermediate+ Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

    Qualifications

    Years of Relevant Experience

    5-10 years of experience in supply chain, hospitality or textiles with an understanding of procurement, data and contracting.

    Overnight Travel Requirements

    Type: All modes of transportation, percentage 10-25%

    Education Requirements

    BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years' experience with education in supply chain, project management, business, economics or related field highly desired
