    This is a full-time, exempt position.

    Position Summary:

    Reporting to Regional Manager - Memphis, TN with responsibilities in Oilseeds and Ag Services. The position is accountable for developing and implementing strategic and intra-divisional business plans for soybean, corn, rice, wheat, and milo origination, trade, and execution. The person will be responsible for managing risk in accordance with corporate policy. The position will be responsible for developing strategies that match with our corporate objectives and executing these strategies utilizing corporate and staff resources as deemed necessary. The position will represent the company on various industry related initiatives as required.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop and manage Midsouth trade for Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi with the goal of maximizing Archer Daniel Midland's profitability within a dynamic operating environment

    • Recognize barge, rail and truck transportation trade flows and forecast fleet management in a barge trading position while responding to market arbitrage opportunities in grain and freight

    • Lead regional rice origination and trading efforts with a focus on profitability and volume growth

    • Analyze and forecast fundamental grain market trends and competitor activities, revising marketing strategies and programs to capitalize on identified opportunities

    • Manage risk for the business segment through futures, spreads, and paper arbitrage of North American grain markets

    • Develop, implement, and direct the business plan, including asset utilization, market development, strategic alignments, logistics and divisional objectives

    • Interacts with key customer accounts and maintains ongoing and regular communications with customers to enhance relationships and customer service

    • Ensures that ADM is effectively utilizing our human resources to maximize our profits through marketing programs and customer/logistical services

    • Directs and manages the implementation of marketing strategies such that we achieve or exceed our divisional targets as well as working with other business units for best application of freight application and timing

    • Work closely with various internal groups to ensure the most cost effective means for coordinating ADM's operations

    • Develops key communication links within ADM to ensure optimal use of Archer Daniels Midland facilities and market access, an understanding and awareness of market requirements, build relationships and facilitate the effectiveness of integrated North American operations

    • Manages human resources in order to ensure excellence and an awareness and commitment to divisional and group goals and objectives. Create an environment which fosters teamwork and continuous improvement

    • Tracks progress towards the achievement of business plans and objectives, as outlined, and initiates action as required

    • Direct the development and provision of training and support to ADM staff regarding professional development

    • Prepares and submits regular and ad hoc reports to the Regional Manager regarding achievements, opportunities, and issues

    Job Requirements:

    • University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance or accounting) supplemented with a minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in the marketing of commodities and/or related food, feed and/or fuel products in North America including management of assets and people

    • Demonstrate capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced work environment

    • Rice experience a plus but not a requirement

    • Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions

    • Demonstrate negotiation and interpersonal skills

    • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the domestic & international trade

    • Prove ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment

    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers

    • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment
