    Job Summary FD Thomas is seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Project Manager to come and join our growing team within our large projects division!

    As a Traveling Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects in various locations. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. This role requires extensive travel to project sites across different cities and states.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure project success.

    • Manage aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, production tracking, cost control and budgets.

    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met.

    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, including any changes or delays.

    • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work is being carried out according to plans and specifications.

    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements throughout the construction process.

    • Mitigate risks by proactively identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions.

    • Resolve conflicts or issues that arise during construction projects.

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all project sites.

    • Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to maintain customer satisfaction.

    Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field preferred.

    • 10 years in the construction industry (Combination of education and work experience acceptable).

    • Previous experience as a traveling project manager in the construction industry is required.

    • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.

    • Strong leadership abilities to coordinate teams and drive project success.

    • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

    • Proficiency in project management software for planning, scheduling, and tracking progress. (experience with Viewpoint & MS Project software a plus!)

    • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites, often working on-site for extended periods of time. (example: 8 weeks on the road 5 days home)

    • Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances or project requirements.

    • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, priority setting, and decision-making abilities.
