    About You and This Role

    As part of the Department Leadership Team, the Unit Leader has overall responsibility to provide functional leadership to plant day staff team and take ownership of the overall technical performance of the unit including developing and addressing more complex key technical performance issues.

    The intent of this role is to provide technical depth and leadership to focus the organization, individuals, and work processes on achieving the department's objectives. The focus on this role is on meeting business production plan.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides technical leadership to other plant production engineers and technical advisors to ensure the plant is being operated per the design intent in a sustainable and optimal manner.

    • Accountable coaching of technical roles, with appropriate technical depth

    • Provides leadership to ensure interfaces within the technical staff, and between the technical staff and process technicians, are effective across areas of the facility.

    • Ensures technical issues impacting near term performance, or long term reliability, are being escalated and driven to closure.

    • Ensures effective engagement of the Isocyanates tech center, or other SMEs, as need to bring holistic perspective to issues impacting plant performance.

    • Serves as the facilitator for the department MI planning and goal setting process.

    • Serves as owner of select departmental initiatives in support of the MI plan.

    • Ensures plant goals are translated to plant staff, and that progress is being made opposite critical initiatives.

    • Ensures CAPA process is being effectively applied for issues triggered by events of a technical nature.

    • Escalates operational issues impacting plant performance to Operations Leader and works together to achieve resolution.

    • Shares Leader Representative responsibilities with Operations Leader for TRBs and requalification.

    • Serves as back-up to Operations Leader and Production Leader.

    • Approver for Level 1 & 2 MOCs relevant to the effective operations of the plant (non-PSI).

    • Contributes to an environment that fosters team and individual empowerment. Models expected behaviors for an empowered organization.

    • Performs Manage Production role of Production Data Coordinator.

    Required Qualifications

    • A minimum of bachelor degree in engineering.

    • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

    • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

    Prefer Skill

    • Preferred four years or more of relevant experience.
