The Procedure Innovations group is dedicated to bringing new and innovative products to market which help improve procedure-related outcomes for our electrophysiologist customers and their patients. This is the fastest growing business within the Cardiac Rhythm group and is preparing for significant expansion over the next several years. The newly created Upstream Product Manager position will have ownership of assigned development programs and strategies that will allow the group to continue our growth trajectory.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional partners and business leadership to help develop the portfolio strategy for your assigned program(s), represent the voice of customer on product development teams, and make recommendations for pipeline investments. You will interface with customers and other stakeholders, and you will use that input to define product requirements and build business cases to support program investments. This role will also have the unique opportunity to collaborate with other business units within Medtronic and explore opportunities for applying our core technologies, such as the TYRXâ„¢ and temporary pacing, across multiple therapy areas.
A Day in the Life:
â€¢ Develops global business and marketing plans in support of PI programs.
â€¢ Owns all marketing deliverables for assigned early-stage development program(s), including opportunity assessments, claims matrices, and financial model inputs.
â€¢ Identifies market research needs, and works with customer insights team to collect voice of customer feedback utilizing multiple methodologies, including direct customer interviews and advisory board facilitation.
â€¢ Partners with, and provides commercial direction to, Clinical, Regulatory, Systems Engineering, Operations, Human Factors Engineering, Research, and other critical functions during the product development process.
â€¢ Identifies opportunities for portfolio expansion, builds the business case, and presents to senior management to secure investment.
â€¢ Contributes to the annual strategic planning process
â€¢ Develops and delivers executive-level presentations to Medtronic leadership and customers.
â€¢ Exercises superior judgment in planning, organizing and executing work; monitors performance and reports program status.
â€¢ Travels domestically and internationally in support of customer engagements and internal Medtronic activities up to 20% of time.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements:
â€¢ Bachelor's Degree
â€¢ 4+ years marketing, technical, sales, sales support experience (2 years with Master's degree)
â€¢ Project and/or program management experience
â€¢ New product planning, upstream, or downstream marketing experience
Nice to Have:
â€¢ MBA or other Master's Degree
â€¢ Medtronic or medical device industry experience
â€¢ Ability to manage concurrent, complex assignments under limited direction
â€¢ Ability and passion to rapidly gain multiple knowledge bases to the extent of a subject matter expert.
â€¢ Knowledge of product development process, and demonstrated leadership in a matrix environment
â€¢ Experience developing and delivering business presentations to executive management
â€¢ Experience authoring marketing and/or business plans
