    Reports to: ECS SVP/CFO

    Location: McLean, VA (or remote US continental locations near a major airport)

    FLSA Status: Full-Time / Exempt

    OVERVIEW

The type of facilities built by ECS companies include hospitals, data centers, transportation and water infrastructure, power plants, a variety of buildings (hospitality, office, residential, education, and institutional), refineries, food processing plants, etc. ECS designs, installs and maintains high-performance mechanical and electrical systems that enable safe, effective, and high-quality lighting, electricity, security, plumbing, heating, cooling, and power generation.

    The ECS Vice President of Information Technology position reports to the EMCOR Construction Services SVP and CFO and has dotted line responsibility to the EMCOR Vice President and CIO and EMCOR Vice President and CISO and interacts daily with direct reporting team and indirect reporting Operating Company IT Professionals. The position has frequent interaction with Operating Company Management (CEO, CFO, COO, etc.), and EMCOR Corporate IT and EMCOR Security & Compliance Teams.

    The ECS IT Department leader will serve as a main point of contact on all IT related matters for ECS. The ideal leader will provide highly technical and responsible staff assistance, manage IT projects, and budgets.

    The ECS Headquarters is located in McLean, VA. However, this position can be performed remotely from other US continental locations near major airports.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

    The ECS VP of Information Technology supervises the planning, creation, implementation, security and maintenance of ECS's information systems and processes to ensure effectiveness with ECS Operating Companies and compliance with EMCOR IT and IT Security policies and practices. The ECS VP IT utilizes technical knowledge and experience to identify and recommend new technologies, manage information programming, conduct feasibility studies, run systems analyses and approve the use of hardware and software services.

    In addition, this role entails monitoring progress on development projects, ensuring the reliability of information technology systems and applications and preparing new projects and programming staff requirements, and reporting formally and informally on progress or potential challenges or constraints. Other key areas include:

    • Effectively leads and manages the direct reporting of the ECS IT, ERP support, and Security & Compliance departments.

    • Provides technical and technical management guidance, oversight, and leadership to the indirect reporting Operating Company IT professionals and consultants.

    • Ensure effective communications so that critical information, policies, and procedures are consistently shared with Operating Companies.

    • Educates IT and EMCOR business leaders on technology advances, technology applications, and security concerns that could positively or negatively affect their business.

    • Assess risk in current and planned projects, proactively develop strategies to mitigate.

    • Facilitate the software review process with Operating Company IT, Management, and Operations, Security and Compliance, and Legal.

    • Participate in the EMCOR Technology Review Board, CyberSecurity Compliance Committee, and various other collaborative teams.

    • Lead post-acquisition integration efforts to ensure incoming company and equipment are onboarded appropriately and securely and that communication flows effectively in both directions.

    • Professionally presents formal reports to executives and IT colleagues. Also, communicates status updates and provides guidance in such a manner that also builds trust and effective work relationships with OpCo IT and OpCo executive leaders.

    This role requires extensive, nation-wide travel -- estimated to be 75% -- to ECS Operating Companies, ECS Corporate HQ in McLean, VA; EMCOR Corporate HQ in Norwalk, CT; and attend or present at EMCOR IT or industry events.

    • Exceptional communication skills, written and oral; capable of leading meetings in a professional manner, including occasional presentations to business leaders or at IT conferences, as well as having one on one consultative conversations

    • Strong project management and interpersonal skills. This includes the ability to influence a diverse team of entrepreneurial business leaders and IT professionals while being empathetic of OpCo needs and constraints

    • Proactive change agent skills with competent follow through

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience . Master's degree preferred

    • 20 years of progressively higher levels of IT leadership experience of which at least 10 years include leading an IT team and supporting a nationwide decentralized operation with 30 or more locations. Must have demonstrated experience with building effective relationships with local IT and executive leaders

    • 20 years of practical hands-on IT and Security experience including Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, PowerShell, Server OS, Virtualization, Backups, IT Asset Management/CMDB, Endpoint Protection, NAC, NDR,

    • 15 years of experience being the primary IT leader of a Corporate Division which includes managing IT and Application support services teams

    • Experience managing a team of 10 or more direct reporting IT Also experienced with leading, guiding dotted line decentralized IT professionals

    • Involvement in on-prem to cloud server and application migrations

    • Assessment of hardware, software, SaaS, and IT Vendors, consultants and related agreements

    • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST, ISO 27001 and similar standards

    ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Leads and/or participates in weekly or as required after-hour maintenance

    • Ability to travel as business needs arise. Travel anticipated to be approximately 75% of work time
