    SUMMARY

    A Vice President of Government Operations is the most senior government affairs professional responsible for managing the Oshkosh Corporation government affairs office and the development and execution of the company's legislative and other government affairs priorities. This position will be assigned to our Washington DC office and report to the Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop a deep understanding of company's business in the Defense, Access and Vocational segments

    • Build strong internal relationships with Oshkosh leadership and internal stakeholders

    • Support execution of Oshkosh strategy and business objectives

    • Foster strong relationships with key Members of Congress and their staffs, and Executive Branch personnel in the defense agencies and other relevant organizations

    • Advocate on behalf of the company with government officials to advance business objectives

    • Oversee and support the Political Action Committee through strategic planning, fundraising, and attendance at events

    • Review and evaluate proposed and existing legislation and other government actions with the potential to affect the company's business objectives

    • Educate company employees about congressional and agency actions affecting business interests

    • Assume other responsibilities as requested in support of enterprise goals and objectives

    • Ensure all government affairs activities are conducted in an ethical and legal manner

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree with fifteen (15) or more years of experience working in government, legislative affairs and industry.

    • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%

    PREFERRED QUALIFATIONS

    • Experience working on a Capital Hill committee or a personal staff with jurisdiction over related authorization or appropriations. Experience in DoD legislative liaison offices with considerable interaction with members of Congress and committee staff would be considered
