    Reporting to the Country Manager of Canada, the VP Proprietary & Cobrand Products, Rewards & NPD , will be a core member of the International Card Services (ICS) Canada Leadership Team, responsible for Amex Canada's industry-leading Consumer & Commercial products, loyalty and insurance programs, cobrand partnerships as well as the new product development practice.

    In this high-profile ICS role, the successful candidate will be a thought contributor to the Canadian business, a strong collaborator who builds excellent relationships across enterprise stakeholders, and a leader who actively crafts an extraordinary culture that grows and develops the next generation of exceptional leaders.

    This individual will lead the end-to-end consumer and commercial product strategy, development and deployment in Canada to effectively grow, optimize and engage Cardmembers through premium solutions that resonate in the marketplace. They will work closely with key executives across acquisition, lending, lifestyle benefits, customer engagement and other lines of business, to drive an integrated, cohesive strategy for American Express Canada.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, lead and execute all consumer and commercial product strategies (card, non-card, and insurance) to drive customer engagement, profitable growth and ultimately market share

    • Manage Product P&Ls to define growth strategies and priorities, set annual operating plans and consistently deliver on financial and customer commitments

    • Lead the Membership Rewards program, ensuring it continues to power our proprietary product line in an amplified and sustainable manner

    • Maintain a continuous focus on innovation with an external orientation to understand key market trends and capitalize on growth opportunities

    • Optimize investments and actively manage key lines of the P&L to improve overall profitability

    • Actively develop talent within the team and across the organization to drive deeper colleague engagement and build an extraordinary culture

    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including partners across international teams

    Qualifications:

    • End to end experience driving new strategies in payments, product and portfolio management across financial services

    • Solid understanding of card economics and associated core levers, experience managing P&L inputs, and proven success in identifying and executing on opportunities to improve profitability

    • Deep understanding of credit card reward program mechanics and financials with a proven track record of creating value for customers and enterprises

    • Solid understanding of consumer and commercial segments, including existing and emerging customer needs and competitive forces

    • Proven track record of influencing and negotiating with 3rd parties to build strategic value and elevate partnerships

    • Ability to encourage through effective communication and engage in an authentic way with their team, key partners and senior leaders

    • Outstanding strategic thinker who can translate a vision into action. Experience defining, implementing and delivering a growth strategy

    • Excellent financial and analytical skills with a consistent track record of effectively managing and prioritizing large investment budgets with complex and competing strategic initiatives

    • Consistent record of leading comprehensive strategic reviews, developing recommendations and implementation plans

    • Effective people leader and team player, with proven track record of change management, developing great talent, fostering an inclusive culture, and driving deeper colleague engagement

    • Ability to create an environment encouraging innovation and strategic thinking

    • Exceptional business judgment, communication and relationship building skills including an ability to influence and inspire others to support and rally behind key strategies and tactics
