  • Description We are looking to add a Controller to our team located in Caledonia, Michigan. This role will be primarily involved in managing financial reporting for our US division, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounting activities, and evaluating key financial systems. The Controller will also be tasked with managing sensitive personnel records, acting as the point of contact for Accounting consultants, and managing tax liabilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage regular financial reporting including monthly financials, sales, costs etc. within established deadlines

    • Oversee accurate and timely processing of accounting activities including inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll process, expense reports, and cash control

    • Coordinate hiring of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable specialist and perform hands-on accounting duties

    • Provide clear financial communication through regular reporting and scrutinize abnormal reporting

    • Evaluate key financial systems including inventory control, open order backlog, shipping/receiving procedures, and company KPI reporting

    • Manage and review sensitive personnel records and payroll records

    • Act as the point of contact for Accounting consultants

    • Ensure all tax payments are made prior to due dates and manage tax liabilities

    • Document accounting practices for the company such as inventory control, production cost analysis, expense reporting, purchase approvals, etc.

    • Analyze financial results, determine the cause of discrepancies, work with affected departments to determine permanent solutions. Requirements - Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar

    • Proficiency in Financial Reporting is essential

    • Demonstrable experience in Month End Close

    • Familiarity with Annual Physical Inventory procedures

    • Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

    • Experience in maintaining General Ledger

    • Ability to prepare and interpret Balance Sheets

    • Skills to Analyze Financial Statements effectively

    • Understanding of Human Resources (HR) Administration

    • Experience in Direct Supervision of teams

    • Proficiency in Cost Accounting and Cost Analysis

    • Experience in managing Payroll

    • Ability to prepare and interpret KPI Reporting

    • Understanding of Tax Liabilities management

    • Proficiency in QuickBooks is an added advantage
