  • JOB SUMMARY

    Under the direction of the Director, this position is responsible for components of the Infection Control Program. This position is very independent and deals with sensitive, confidential and regulatory information on a daily basis. Key responsibilities include: maintaining knowledge base of current infection prevention and control information and regulatory compliance requirements. Participation in strategic planning and consultation to ensure identification and implementation of infection control goals, standards and objectives. Participates in preparation for accreditation and other regulatory review. Serves as content expert/consultant on infection control issues. Evaluates and monitors staff and physician compliance with Infection Control Policies and Procedures. Follows up with education, training and development of policies and procedures as needed. Reports non-compliance to management or physician leadership.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degreee

    California RN License

    At least 4 years in an acute care hospital with 2 years in infection control

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Ability to multitask

    Good understanding of statistics

    Excellent computer skills to include Excel and PowerPoint

    Infection Conrol Certification (preferred on hire) - required within 3 years in the position

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Master's Degree

    5 years of experience

    Licensed Medical Doctor

    Healthcare Environmental Management

    CIC

    Clinical Lab Scientist in Microbiology

    The expected hiring range for this position is $52.95 to $72.81
