    What You Can Expect

    The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for managing the Operational Excellence function across a manufacturing site and execution of all programs and initiatives to build a culture of continuous improvement as aligned to key strategic goals; includes the implementation of Zimmer Biomet Operating System (ZBOS) and delivering finance and performance commitments. The successful candidate will apply principles of Class A, project management, lean manufacturing and six sigma and other CI methodologies to support manufacturing operations. This role is hands on and directly accountable for business results. It requires the ability to contribute as both a leader and individual contributor across CI projects. This role will report direct line to Site Director/General Manager and dotted line to the Director of Operational Excellence.

    This is an onsite position in Warsaw, Indiana.

    How You'll Create Impact

    • Responsible for deploying Operational Excellence initiatives in the plant. Examples of programs and initiatives are Cost Saving Program, Class A, Workflow Lean Transformation, Quality Begins With Me, DMAIC Problem Solving, Lean Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance, etc.

    • Develop, coordinate and execute the Operational Excellence Annual Deployment Plan (ADP)

    • Assist site leadership team in selecting and prioritizing projects that align with plant goals and strategies.

    • Responsible for the sustaining and execution of cost saving program, metric tracking and reports within the site.

    • Ensure project tracking system and business results are maintain, and results are communicated/summarized monthly.

    • Coach and mentor plant project and certification candidates to ensure their continued development in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and other CI Methodologies. This applies to candidates under certification or general coaching for problem solving. May be in manufacturing or transactional processes such as Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, etc.

    • Responsible for the planning and delivery of the organization's OpEx training at the site, in alignment with Corporate OpEx standards and guidelines (DMAIC/PDCA methodologies, Lean Six Sigma, Class A, TPM). Conduct ZBOS training as required.

    • Participate in the deployment of Quality Begins With Me Program within the site.

    • Work with site leadership team to install organizational reinforcers for Operational Excellence (change management, reviews, communications, rewards, software, etc.)

    • Facilitate and Coach Strategy Deployment and Value Stream Analysis Tools

    • Own Enterprise Excellence Assessment action plan and participate as assessor in other sites assessments.

    • Develop Class A roadmap and timeline to incorporate in to the overall Operational Excellence Strategy

    • Accountable to identify, lead, and implement, both personally and as team lead, CI High impact projects that result in site savings as defined as part of goals and objectives. Achievement of defined savings requirement will be part of annual performance expectations.

    • Perform related duties as required.

    • Evidence of successful implementation of lean continuous improvement resulting in improved performance in quality, lead-time and productivity.

    • Solid past performance as a project manager in continuous improvement projects.

    • Strong analytical/statistical problem-solving tools (DMAIC/PDCA/8 Disciplines)

    • Ability to support multiple projects and balance priorities.

    • Broad business knowledge and ability to link customer needs with business processes.

    • Strong coaching, influencing, facilitation and organizational skills.

    • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.

    • An understanding of and proficiency in Change Management.

    • Advanced skills in MS Office and statistical software packages (Minitab, Visio, etc.).

    Your Background

    • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

    • Six Sigma or Lean Sigma certification required (Inside Certification or ASQ) is required.

    • A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required
